Clashes continued throughout France on Thursday (April 6) as protesters marched during the 12th day of a nationwide strike against President Emmanuel Macron and his deeply unpopular pension bill.
Riot police fired tear gas canisters or charged at demonstrators, and several people were arrested.
Protests in previous weeks have been similarly violent, with mostly masked protesters throwing projectiles, and police dispersing them with tear gas.
Trade unions urged a show of force on the streets a day before the Constitutional Council’s ruling on the legality of the bill that will raise the state pension age by two years to 64.
